Struggling Huddersfield Town have been dealt a further blow with the news that midfielder Chris Holland has been ruled out of action until the start of next year with a groin injury.

Holland, 27, has missed just two games for the Terriers this season.

But the injury that first affected the former Newcastle United player at the start of November has flared up again and he will now undergo surgery to cure the problem.

Huddersfield, who have slumped into the Second Division relegation zone, expect to be without Holland for up to five weeks.
