Bjorkman returned to the world's top 30 with a surprise appearance in the quarter-finals of the Paris Masters at the end of last season. He consolidated his position by reaching the semi-finals of the Marseille event earlier this year.
The Swede wins most of his titles on the doubles tour with Todd Woodbridge - but he continues to be a dangerous singles player.
One of the best returners in the game, Bjorkman ran into form on grass last year, reaching the semi-finals in Nottingham and the last eight at Wimbledon.
He followed that with a fourth-round appearance at the US Open.
However, his form on clay has been far from impressive so far this year and he has few happy memories of the French Open - his best performance a fourth-round run eight years ago.
