Grosjean is France's best hope of a home win at Roland Garros. The fleet-footed Frenchman is one of the most naturally talented players on tour - a natural volleyer with outstanding reflexes and fabulous court coverage.
After a disrupted clay-court season last year, the 25-year-old reached the semi-finals at Queen's Club before going on to beat home favourite Tim Henman en-route to the semi-finals at Wimbledon.
He began this year by reaching the quarter-finals of the Australian Open and followed that with last-16 appearances at Miami and Indian Wells.
Staying fit is Grosjean's biggest challenge.
Already this year, a pulled muscle forced him out of his Australian Open quarter-final against Andre Agassi and a virus prevented him playing for France against Switzerland in the Davis Cup,
He has since returned to action but his form coming into the French Open has been surprisingly poor.
However, he can draw on the happy memories of a semi-final run in Paris three years ago when he beat Agassi in the quarters.
