Hole 16 at Augusta
170 yards, par three

By Peter Alliss
BBC TV golf commentator

Hole 16

This is the last of the short holes. There is a longish bunker alongside the left side of the green and another middle right of the green. A step runs through the putting surface.

You can play a poor shot and end up very close to the hole if the flag is back left.

Then again, if the flag is front right, you can play a very good looking shot that pitches and looks as if it is going to stop two or three yards from the hole but ends up 40 feet away. It gets on the slope and dribbles down towards the water.
