C. canadensis 'Forest Pansy' is a multi-stemmed tree with purple, heart-shaped, leaves and pointed tips. Its leaves are a beautiful purple colour during spring and summer before finally turning yellow in autumn. Its deep crimson, pink or sometimes white pea-like flowers prove a dramatic spring display emerging before its leaves. Plants look excellent planted at the back of a border or against a wall.
