Hole 2 at Augusta
575 yards, par five

Peter Alliss
By Peter Alliss
BBC TV golf commentator

Hole 2
The second is a long, downhill par five - a right-to-left dogleg hole.

When I first went there, I wondered if anybody had ever reached it in two because it doesn't look at all likely.

There is a big bunker on the right-hand side to catch the drive. The trap has been played about with and put back again over the years.

There are bunkers across the front of the green, which is relatively narrow. You can go over the back and leave yourself a very treacherous putt indeed.

But we have seen very many birdies and even a few eagles over the years.
