 Appleby leads the marathon event |
Australian Stuart Appleby fired a six-under-par round of 66 to to take the lead after four rounds in the 90-hole Las Vegas Invitational on Saturday. Appleby's 28-under total of 259 is one better than overnight leader Steve Flesch in the five-round event.
Scott McCarron moved into third place with a five-under 67, a further two strokes back.
Australia's Robert Allenby lies fourth, but Scott Verplank, a joint third-round leader, dropped back to sixth place.
He was three-under on his round until the par-five 16th, where he found the water hazard twice and made a triple-bogey eight.
Darren Clarke is 16 shots behind Appleby after firing a fourth round 73.
