Steve Flesch and Scott Verplank struck six-under-par 66s to remain tied for the lead after the third round of the Las Vegas Invitational. The American pair are on 23-under-par for the tournament, having played 192 shots, the third lowest total for a 54-hole total on the PGA Tour.
Australian Stuart Appleby, who has finished second in his last two tournaments, fired a nine-under 63 to move into third place on 193.
Tim Herron, Scott McCarron and Woody Austin are tied for fourth on 195.
Darren Clarke shot a third round 68 which leaves him 10 behind the leaders.

But Spaniard Sergio Garcia missed the cut, along with Frenchman Thomas Levet.
Amazingly, Flesch expressed disappointment after his round.
"I don't want to sound like sour grapes, I just know what it could be," he said.
"Conservatively, it could be another 10 under par."
Verplank, who shot a 66 at the Southern Highlands course to join Flesch in the lead, lamented some missed putts.
