 Sorenstam: Timing was perfect |
Annika Sorenstam booked her place in golf's Hall of Fame with a two-under-par round of 70 that left her in second place at the Samsung World Championships. After a rain delay on Thursday, the world number one needed only to complete her round to satisfy the last requirement - 10 completed seasons - for entry to the LPGA hall.
She did that, but still lies two shots behind second-round leader Se Ri Pak who shot a 68 to lead the field on a seven-under total of 137.
The headlines centred on Sorenstam, however.
And the Swede was happy with the timing of her milestone: "It's a nice surprise to finish and get a good night's rest and come back tomorrow strong.
"It's great obviously, a great week to do it to come to the World Championships and do it."
