Price under pressure
Philip Price
Price kept his lead in the third round at Woburn

Philip Price saw his lead cut to just a single shot going into the last day of the British Masters at Woburn.

A closing bogey - his first in 50 holes - gave Price a 68 and 15 under par total of 201.

Ian Poulter remains in second after saving par from 10 feet at the 18th for a 67.

He is two shots ahead of the trio in joint third place - 21-year-old Justin Rose, Worthing's Gary Evans and Dane Soren Hansen.

Price had not dropped a shot from the fourth hole of his first round to the last hole of his third, but missed from nine feet on the 18th for his first bogey in 50 holes.

"I'm annoyed," said Price.

"I had a chance of a good finish and let it slip a bit.

"I thought we would end up pulling away, but we've let some back in."

Rose had a sparkling 65 and is chasing his fourth win of the season, but like Price and Poulter his first on European soil.

Evans and Hansen have their sights on their first-ever tour win.

Colin Montgomerie shares sixth place with Sandy Lyle, Jamie Spence, Philip Golding and South African Trevor Immelman, but they are seven adrift of Price.

Left-hander Stuart Little and Spaniard Jose Manuel Lara both went to the turn in 32 on the third morning.

Justin Rose
Rose finished the day in third
The pair had only just survived the halfway cut at level par and have now given themselves the chance of their best-ever finish on the tour.

Little, 34, has never finished higher than his ninth place in the 1992 Monte Carlo Open, while 25-year-old Lara's best was ninth in Madeira last season.

Both had a hat-trick of birdies from the sixth hole, Little having already birdied the long second and Lara the 425-yard fourth.

Ryder Cup Dubliner Paul McGinley, another who only just managed to stay in the event, improved to two under by picking up shots at the second and third.

Ian Woosnam hit two birdies and two bogeys in the first six holes.
