Try to breathe shallow and notice how you feel. Now breathe deeply and notice the difference.
In sport, and especially during a shoot-out, the state a player accesses is a key element to their performance. Performance = preparation + the state we access.
Players need to find out what state supports them best and then change their breathing in order to access that state.
