How to survive penalty shoot-outs
1. Channel your energy in the present
Energy can fluctuate between past, present and future, but we can only live in the present.

A player about to take a penalty must be careful not to let the energy go back to the past.

There is no point thinking "if I hadn't missed that chance in normal time, we wouldn't be at this point now".

Equally, players must avoid looking to the future.

"What if I miss?" is not a good question to ask yourself as you are placing the ball on the spot.
