How to survive penalty shoot-outs
1. Channel your energy in the present (continued)
A good way to keep energy in the present is to focus on the process of doing things.

Focus on walking towards the penalty spot - just enjoy the feeling.

If the mind starts wandering and focusing on negative feelings, players can bring it back to the present by simply channelling their energy on how the most comfortable part of the body feels.

This could be your right shoulder, or left knee. The idea is to trick the mind to focus on something specific, stopping unwanted thoughts making their way in.
