Harrogate survived a tense Cleethorpes innings to record only their second Yorkshire Premier League win of the season by 27 runs at St. Georges Road. Imran Patel scored a century as Harrogate made 266-8, while Cleethorpes responded with 239-9. Harrogate skipper David Stiff told BBC Radio York: "They were always just a little bit behind [the run rate]. "We're quite relieved as we knew we could have closed out the game a lot earlier, but it's nice to get a win." York stay top of the table after beating Barnsley by 22 runs at Clifton Park. York were reduced to 45-4, but Simon Mason's 113 not out lifted them to 227-6. Barnsley ended on 205-7, so York take six points. Castleford narrowed the gap behind York to just four points after they beat and dismissed Driffield. Rotherham beat Scarborough by 81 runs at Clifton Lane and took the full eight points after taking the final Scarborough wicket with the last ball of the game. Yorkshire's Joe Sayers scored 121 to take Rotherham above Scarborough into third place.
