A kitbag of uncommon skills have earned this Victorian all-rounder the nickname 'Freak', but he has never been a cast-iron regular in the one-day squad.
His slower ball is still a huge weapon even though most opponents have seen it before and he has tended to take big wickets at key moments.
But he is yet to register a half-century for his country and has an average of less than 20.
After a debut in 1997/98, he missed two seasons, including the 1999 World Cup triumph.
Played in many of the lead-up matches of the 2003 World Cup campaign but was usurped by Damien Martyn in the final, who batted with a broken hand.
