Happy New Year [belatedly]

Hi there everyone.
My apologies for my long absence but I've been very busy, I think.
I've been coping with menopausal loss of my brain function and then on top of all that THE EARTH MOVED for me.
It was the night of Auld Yule, 6th January, well actually early on the Sunday morning. I was lying in bed listening to Radio 4/BBC World Service ( a very interesting programme about seed stores in the north of Norway) when the bed started to vibrate.I sat up and turned off the radio and there was a kind of rumbling noise and the whole room rattled and shook.
When it stopped, I got out of bed, put on my coat and went outside to check that the house hadn't fallen down or the hill hadn't slid down on top of it.
But no. It was perfectly quiet outside. A few cars were moving about, it being yule night but other than that it was a lovely still night.
I checked the next day and discovered that there had been an earthquake!
I wonder if I'll make the bill this year!
Now about all this talk of smut!
Anyone who knows me knows how I feel about that kind of behaviour and it will take a lot more than a bit of Viking smut to entice us Northern Ladies to the Western Isles......................
but I dare say we are open to offers!

Hi Muness - I needed a picture from Unst to accompany the text in the featured blog box. The pic is of Balta Isle and is taken from one of puffinbillyunst's blogs. You can see more of his snaps here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/islandblogging/blogs/005169/0000006388.shtml

If you're feeling the earth move in Unst dmc, stay right there! The Lewisian bodachs can't hope to compete. That's likely why all the wimmin are leaving. Poor Donald.....

A little tremor, and all Unst is aglow. People should not sleep in rocking chairs or Murphy beds!! A 4.1 on the Richter is all that could be registered. The folks in the Western Isles would require more motion, rocking and swaying, to be impressed. If you don't believe me, ask TWS and Diggy. The reason the women in the Western Isles are leaving in droves is that they can't take all this shake and rattle. The men love it. Annie B. and Calum. have the low down on it.
