The long and winding road..........

Today we were back at school but since the road to my house has not been cleared I had to struggle through the snow to get to the main road and a lift to school. I was very tired when I got there and my face was bright red and stayed that way for most of the morning much to the bairns' amusement.
On my way home after school what did I find...a mixture of snow drifts, puddles and a raging torrent where the final steep bit of road used to be!!!
See attached photos.
It is now raining heavily so I may be able to get my car down the road tomorrow, unless of course it's flooded

I love the wellies. Do they come in cat-paw sizes?

Flying Cat from Orkney

With wellies like that you can withstand any raging torrent. Nice pictures though. Good to see you are posting regular blogs rather than a monthly issue.

151 days without any rain in Phoenix, Arizona: nary a drop (who would want to live in Az. anyway when there is NM next door?). They are too worn out to dance for rain, but dance they must (and vigorously too, like the bairns of Hoy and Flotta!( - or they'll all shrivel up from dessication. So, don't complain when water courses through Shetland and Orkney. You could be living in Phoenix, Arizona.

Featured Blog? Why? You couldn't even see the icicile on the original posting. Maybe damadcoo will keep on blogging regularly now she has this acolade.

Of course Damadcoo deserves the "featured blog" accolade. And what do you mean complaining that "you could not even see the icicle on the original posting" [mishap was clearly caused by gremlins in IBHQ - which agreed gremlins were at work last week/weekend]? You should be able to "imagine" it, good heavens Herman from Orkney. Go scrape the paint off your windows!!

I like my paint. (Magnolia of course)

Whatever happened Damadcoo? No more pictures? You only take photos of wintry scenes? How about potholes in Unst?

Yous should post a picture of the new junction at Haroldswick. Is the roundabout & underpass finished yet?
