Isle of Rousay, Egilsay and Wyre

Three islands cluster together at the heart of Orkney - with a boastful 166 sites of archaeological interest - the site is a haven for historical research and survey.

Midhowe - the 'Great Ship of Death' can be found on Rousay, and such is the historical significance of the island that most of it has been designated a Site of Scientific Special Interest.

The areas of Quandale and Westness in Rousay were the only parts of Orkney to be affected by the clearances.
