Nest 3 from my last post, the eggs have hatched.

Most of the young birds have left their nests by now, but here are two that must be close to out-staying their welcome. This is the nest in picture 3 of my last post.

VERY nice. You must be a naturalist either by training or/and at heart. Thank you. Kettletoft looks in good shape. Are there lots of sailing boats traipsing around the islands in the summer? And are they locals or islanders - or do they sail in from elsewhere? Or are most boats diesel powered work vessels?

Hello mjc, There are quite a few sailing boats around, a lot of the smaller ones come from Orkney Mainland but some larger ones come from farther away, Scotland, Shetland, Scandinavia and even further. Most of the local boats are motor boats of various sizes, many used as creel boats. (lobsters and crabs etc). Pete.
