Welcome to Ming's World

Meow. My name is Ming and (for what it’s worth) I was born on a pretend island called Anglesey – and NO, I do not like sheep, especially their ticks. I live with two humans and Winnoo, a feline with attitude problems and a complete disregard for authority, my authority. I’m babelfish enabled and a dab paw with the mouse, hence my starting this blog.
My humans called me ‘Ming the Merciless’, Ming since I had a body hygiene problem, I moved in having a complete set of tackle, and merciless as I was a good provider of little fury things. ‘Had’ is the past tense as they took me to a V. E. T. where I fell asleep and awoke singing for the trebles.

So, here I am on my favourite post on the main road at Uig and this is where I see all. I moved here last June and already have a few friends - Brad’s a fishermen, so I like him, one day he’s going to bring me a nice surprise…… and he sometimes winds down the glass in his wheeled box and shouts “Hiya Ming”. Thank God for my babelfish, he speaks really weird, Glaswegian I believe but sadly my b-fish won’t funny-up his endless jokes or switch him off.
Then there’s birdyman and Jason. They both beep to me as they go by in their wheeled boxes – and they wave sometimes too.
All in all it’s a very friendly place and over time I’m going to excite you with all the low-down going-ons in Uig and in particular my and Winnoo’s outside dining habits.

Snacks
Posted: Sunday, 25 April 2004 |

Today I'll show you a couple of potential snacks that visit my pad. Actually, I can't be bothered with little birds, the effort in catching them is just too much and they can hardly be called a meal. But they are pretty and I love to watch them though the transparent walls whilst I lavish myself on the radiator.

The first is a Twite and birdyman says his gang (a particularly strange group calling themselves twitchers) grows fields of seedie plants just to help them through the winter. How kind. Birdyman came to visit this morning on his way home from an epic 13 hr session in the hotel. I sat on his knee but he didn’t say a word. Just ear to ear grins and burps and breath.

Look at this, fancy having a bath in dust and in front of me. I don't really care but winnoo gets really excited at them, chattering teeth and all that. As a kitten I remember hearing skylarks on Anglesey but they were disappearing quickly. Memories, who would have em.
Well, we're about to be left alone, again, as our humans race out to help demolish a barrel of real ale. Still, there'll be two very still and snoring bodies to lie on when it's all over. The female human has a birthday today so I'll go out and catch her a twite, or perhaps a stonechat, or......

Real Ale Party

COLL GETS REAL ALE !!

The humans got back at midnight last night after 'Nic the Bar' (seen drawing pint of nectar above) and Olvin had a real ale party, a test to see what it's like. Thanks to Dubebhoy and others for the recommendation. My man-human went round at 1pm to tap the barrel and from that moment onwards Uig, a few km south of the barrel, had peace and quiet. My b-fish was pushed to its limit in extracting info once they staggered home. I believe the day was a fantastic success. In addition to a really fine ale, Atlas' Latitude, there was great excitement as swallows had arrived, a couple of corncrakes were heard over the sound of beer trickling into mugs, a bonxie glided though the sun drenched sky and this punk bumble bee, Bombus digilibolokarus !

Roll on the next one.
