Bousd Raft Race

This was the first RAFT RACE to be held at Bousd.... and what a day.

We left early, it's a long way with little paws and got a prime view. But I cannot understand the attraction of water.. Us cats are far too sensible for that sort of carry on.

So, here are the winners, my hu-man and his friend (note I use the singular) Neil. A good day for the olduns who, despite having a combined age of 108+ beat all the youth and testosterone the island could muster !

For lots of pics try my hu-woman's web page
Bousd Raft Race
It was a brilliant day and we all hope an annual event.
Sorry to be quick, there are grasshopper warbler chicks in my garden and it's luch time.......

Thanks

Firstly a big thanks to Mike et al for awarding me, a mere cat, gallery 7 best snap. I’ve not been blogging of late as I’ve been transfixed by the book Hebridean Light. It really is a beautiful collection of evocative and vibrant images. Gus’s use of light, and the lack of it, is magic.
Here I am with my prize

Another thank you must go to Nic in the inn She warned me to look out for ferrets as they have had some at their pad. I do just this, regularly, but my humans can’t understand I am really looking out for the quail and not trying to eat them myself. I get told off time after time. It’s not fair.

So, I’ve reached a compromise, I now just lurk in the undergrowth so if those feral ferrets dare to come near me and my dinners, I’ll… probably run like hell.

I’ve also got to say hello to Will…. Hello Will… and why haven’t you blogged lately…. Too busy taking driving lessons ? and when you pass my pad you’re supposed to toot your horn. Although it must be said, I don’t spend so much time on my roadside post in summer… it’s too busy. Funny how all the tourists’ cars have quiet exhausts… can’t hear them coming down Uig hill so I lurk in the sun of the far side of the house.
Anyhow, whilst on randomness, below is a snap I meant to show ages ago and forgot. The flag Iris on Coll, as many of the isles, are spectacular. Perhaps Harris with it’s purple flags would win first prize but still I reckon Coll is near the top.

All the best, Ming
