Ivan was born in Belgium and studied at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels and then the Geneva University of Music.

He made his operatic debut on the stage of Opéra Royal de Wallonie singing Papageno in Mozart‘s Die Zauberflöte. After that he joined the National Centre for Opera Singers in Marseille and sang in numerous French theatres like Montpellier as Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro and Avignon as Franck in Die Fledermaus.

He’s an active concert singer and recitalis,t enjoying singing Lied and artsong. In 2013 he was awarded the “Wil Keune prize for a young singer with real potential“ at the 32th Belvedere Competition in Amsterdam. Ivan won the 2nd Prize at the St Petersburg Opera Competition.

For 2014-16, he was a member of the International opera studio of the Zurich opera, where he sang roles such as Ping (Turandot), Bello (La Fanciulla del west), Lakai (Ariadne auf Naxos) Rodomonte in Haydn’s Orlando Paladino.

His most recent and upcoming guest performances include the role of Lord Enrico Ashton in Donizetti‘s Lucia di Lammermoor at Opéra de Liège, Bartolo in Der Barbier von Sevilla für Kinder at the Salzburg Festival, a tour with the YSP of the Salzburg Festival to China, Serviteur and Aubergiste in Prokofieff’s L’Ange du Feu at Opéra de Lyon, Belcore at the Essen Opera and Oronte in Charpentier’s Médée at the Zurich opera with William Christie.
