Sashaying her way into the competition, snap your fingers for the magnificent Michelle Visage!

Fans of RuPaul’s Drag Race will know her from the show’s judging panel, where dishes out advice to the world’s most fabulous drag artists alongside long-time friend RuPaul.

But her drag credentials are nothing new. Michelle moved from New Jersey to New York in the 1980s and soon gained prominence in the New York ball scene – the birthplace of the dance style that inspired Madonna’s track Vogue.

In 1990 she joined girl band Seduction, releasing a selection of hit singles before joining RuPaul as co-host of The RuPaul Show and WKTU’s morning show in 1996. Worldwide recognition came in 2011 when she became a permanent panelist on RuPaul’s Drag Race, with the UK version of the show set to air this autumn.

She’s also taken part in 2015’s Celebrity Big Brother and joined the judging panel for two series of Ireland’s Got Talent. Now she’s on the other side of Judges desk, she's gearing up for a full Strictly makeover – and it sounds like she’s going to get on with all the glitz and glamour just fine.

“Honey this is my comfort zone. Being without it [glitter] is when I feel awkward!” she said. “I couldn't imagine life without glitter!”
