Meet Dev Griffin

"I've copied most of the dance moves that I know from MC Hammer circa 1997."

He’s hanging up his headphones for a whole new challenge – welcome Strictly 2019, Dev Griffin!

"I don’t mind falling over or missing a few steps, but if I was the first person to be sent packing I would be devastated."

The Londoner has been a regular voice on our airwaves for years, first breaking into radio following a stint on kids TV. He then got behind the decks on BBC Radio 2, before landing his own show on BBC Radio 1Xtra and eventually taking over the early breakfast slot on BBC Radio 1.

As his broadcasting career went from strength to strength, Dev moved over to Radio 1’s weekend breakfast show, before taking up his current afternoon slot alongside Alice Levine.

When he’s not been busy chatting to the nation, Dev has taken part in Celebrity MasterChef, hosted BBC One’s Saturday Kitchen and The One Show, as well as appearing on Channel 4’s SAS Who Dares Wins for Stand Up To Cancer.

He’ll be unleashing his competitive side yet again for Strictly, and he’s determined to go as far as he possibly can.

“I don’t mind falling over or missing a few steps, but if I was the first person to be sent packing I would be devastated,” he said. “Even if I do the whole ‘put a brave face on’ thing or I say stuff like ‘it’s just nice to have taken part’, know that inside I’ll be dying.”

Don’t panic, you’ll Dev-initely be fine…
