David Suchet
David is best known for his role as moustachioed sleuth Hercule Poirot in 'Agatha Christie’s Poirot' for which he received a BAFTA nomination and a devoted, global following. His extraordinary career in television includes the BBC’s 'Oppenheimer' and his BAFTA-nominated performance in the BBC’s adaptation of 'The Way We Live Now.' A consummate Shakespearean, Suchet became a member of the RSC in 1973 and has performed over thirty roles for the company including Bolingbroke in 'Richard II' opposite Alan Howard, Shylock in 'A Merchant of Venice,' Orlando in 'As You Like It' and the title role in 'Macbeth.' He most recently starred in 'The Importance of Being Earnest' in the West End and on tour as the formidable Lady Bracknell. Other recent credits include the Duke of York in the BBC’s The Hollow Crown season and Jaggers in the BBC One adaptation of 'Great Expectations.' His many film credits include A Perfect Murder (1998), A World Apart (1998), The Bank Job (2008) and Effie Gray (2014).
