Helen Mirren
Helen was invited to join the RSC in the early 1960s and has performed over twenty different roles for the company including title roles in 'Antony and Cleopatra' and 'Troilus and Cressida,' Julia in 'Two Gentleman of Verona' and Castiza in Trevor Nunn’s 1966 production of 'The Revenger’s Tragedy.' At the National Theatre she performed opposite Alan Rickman in 'Antony and Cleopatra' and the title role in Nichola Hytner’s 'Phèdre' which made theatre history for being the first production to be filmed by NTLive and seen in cinemas worldwide. She became a household name for her performance as DCI Jane Tennison in ITV’s 'Prime Suspect' and her work for the BBC include leading roles in critically acclaimed dramas such as 'Cousin Bette,' 'The Changeling,' 'The Philanthropist' and Denis Potter’s 'Blue Remembered Hills.' She won an Oscar and a BAFTA for her performance in The Queen (2006) and her incredible film career (for which she has received an Academy Fellowship and a BAFTA Fellowship) includes The Madness of King George (1994), Gosford Park (2001), Trumbo (2015), The Last Station (2006) and The Tempest (2010).
