Lacey's cover version
Each week on Get Creative a famous face shares with us their hidden talent. This week it's the turn of actress Lacey Turner, best known as EastEnders Stacey Branning, who tells us how she gives new life to old furniture.
Loud mouthed and brash, EastEnders' Stacey Branning has had a colourful life on Albert Square. She's had to deal with her mother's bipolar condition, abortion, drug abuse, her own mental illness, an affair with her father-in-law Max, rape, murder and the death of her beloved Bradley. No surprise then that the actress who plays her has a relaxing creative past-time!
Lacey Turner joined the soap the day after she finished school and made her first appearance on screen in 2004. She left the soap in 2010 but returned to reprise the role in 2014. But when she's not appearing on the nation's TVs she winds down by upcycling furniture. We asked her to tell us more.

How do you get creative outside of work?

I have an obsession with old furniture I love to paint it or cover it
How does it make you feel?
I find it so relaxing and therapeutic it takes you away from the madness of this industry
Why would you encourage other people to get creative?
I think it's good for the soul and it's good to experiment with colours and paints , fabric etc plus you can turn something old into something new
