Canada Day: Drake makes it THREE MONTHS at the Official Charts number 1
1 July 2016

Drake's had 12 weeks on top of the Official Chart and it's Canada's 149th birthday!
Drake's 'One Dance' has now been at number on in the Official Chart for quarter of a year.
Quite the achievement, especially as he patriotically made it to a full three months on July 1st, Canada Day.
Celebrating the formation of Canada as an independent state, as well as Drake's chart stamina, here's a celebration of Canadian chart excellence.
Facts time:
Drake has now passed all but four songs in the history of the Official Charts for longest time spent in the top spot.
'I Believe' by Frankie Lane technically spent 18 weeks at the Official Charts number 1, in 1953 - the longest spell at the top for any song.
However, it wasn't consecutive weeks, for which it longest record goes to Drake's Canadian compatriot, Bryan Adams. He spent a massive sixteen weeks solid - a third of a year - at the top of the Official Chart in 1991 with 'Everything I Do (I Do It For You)'.

'Everything I Do (I Do It For You)' clocks in at a lengthy 4 minutes 18 seconds, meaning that by the end of it's monster stint at the top it had been played for slightly over 1 hour, 8 minutes as the Official Charts number one.
Drake's 'One Dance' clocks in at a comparatively brief 2 minutes 28 seconds, meaning that by now it's only been played out at the top of the chart for 29 and a half minutes.
To top 'Everything I Do (I Do It For You)' in terms of number one airtime, Drake would need to be number one for the majority of the rest of the year - crikey.

Although arguably not as famous as her other number one, 'My Heart Will Go On,' Canadian Celine Dion also achieved an impressive chart run of seven weeks at the top with 'Think Twice.'
Celine holds an impressive 9 weeks at the Official Charts number one across her career.

More recently, famously Canadian Justin Bieber's been ruling the Official Chart - he's spent 13 weeks overall at the top spot, including 2 weeks with 'Sorry,' 5 weeks with 'What Do U Mean' and 6 weeks with 'Love Yourself'.
More impressively, Justin managed to lock out the top 3 places of the Official Chart, with 'Love Yourself' in the top spot, 'Sorry' in second place and 'What Do You Mean' in third; the first time ever an artist had taken all three!
