Di Joint Admission and Matriculation Board JAMB say from 16 May 2025, dem go allow some 2025 UTME candidates to rewrite di exam after investigation show say error dey di exam wey lead to a mass failure.

For statement on Wednesday JAMB say true-true some kain tins dey wey affect di performance of students during di 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

JAMB oga Prof Ishaq Oloyede apologise to di affected students and Nigerians in front of media pipo say im go take responsibility for di errors wey happen and promise say dem dey do everything to correct am.

"Wetin suppose be moment of joy don change due to one or two errors," Oloyede tok.

Di Registrar announce say about 379,997 candidates for di just concluded Jamb go retake di UTME exam.

Dis follow many complaint of technical glitches, low scores, and alleged inconsistency for di question and answer during di exam.

Which states dey affected

JAMB say dem discover glitches for dia system wey affect 157 exam centres inside dia Lagos and Owerri exam zones.

Under Lagos zone, 65 exam centres dey affected inside Lagos and Oyo states only. For Owerri zone, 92 exam centres dey affected across Imo, Abia, Anambra and Ebonyi.

For 2022 UTME, Jamb announce say, 378,639 candidates score above 200, 520,596 score 190 and above, while 704,991 score 180 and above.

Also, 934,103 score 170 and above and 1,192,057 score 160 and above.

For 2024, a total of 1,904,189 candidates sit down for UTME. 1,989,668 register for di exam, wey be 24.7% higher dan di figure for 2023.

According to Jamb, out of di 1,842,464 results wey dem release, only 0.4 percent score above 300, while 24 percent score 50 percent (200/400) and above.

As dem see dis kain low scores since for 2019 UTME, Jamb and institutions come conclude say make dem reduce and approve national minimum cut-off mark of 160 for university admission for Nigeria.

Again for 2022/2023 admission session, Jamb come set di general cut-off mark for universities at 140 and above, as dem see say candidates underperform dat year again.
