The U17s Girls are back to the top of the League thanks to a win over Readstone.

UNDER 9s:
BJFF A 1 YMCA A 5
BJFF B 3 YMCA B 2

YMCA reached the semi finals of the PDPL’s Plate Competition with this 7-4 aggregate victory at Bispham last Saturday. In the A game BJ grabbed the lead straight from the kick off after just 10 seconds but Ryan W made it 1-1 at the break with a superb equaliser from 20yds. YMCA dominated the 2nd half adding a further four goals, Ryan W netting two more to complete his hat trick with Laurence J scoring the other two goals. Chyna A was outstanding throughout with Declan H also notable. In the B game YMCA again found themselves behind in the 1st minute but a strike by Ryan F made it 1-1 at the break. BJ gradually gained the initiative though and scored two further goals before Dan H grabbed a late goal for the visitors. Amy S shone for YMCA.

UNDER 10s:
SQUIRES GATE A 1 YMCA A 5
SQUIRES GATE B 0 YMCA B 19

YMCA proved far too strong for the home side and they cruised into the PDPL Plate semi finals at Gate last Saturday. They always had the edge in the A game with Owen F in great form as he grabbed four of his team’s goals. A Harrison O strike completed the scoring for YMCA for whom James C was also outstanding. The B game was completely one-way traffic as YMCA totally dominated from start to finish with Josh C, Kai L and Lewis T all bagging double hat tricks, Matthew J also on target.

11-A-SIDE:
UNDER 11s:
ST ANNES FC 0 YMCA 5

YMCA dominated throughout in this local derby at Blackpool Rd North last Sunday. Top scorer Jack R was in fine form throughout and broke the deadlock midway through the first half after a Christian H corner was headed on to the cross bar by James R and the ball dropped to Jack R who fired home from close range. The outstanding Conah B came close as did Christian H but it remained 1-0 at the break Jordan W, Jack C and Shane D were all excellent in a great first half performance. In the 2nd half Jack R scored two goals to complete a fine hat trick before Christian H won then scored a superb free kick before the impressive Jack C completed the scoring with an excellent 20yd strike. Rowley, Cameron S and Jordan M were all notable also.

UNDER 12s:
YMCA 5 THORNTON CLEV 2

YMCA bounced back from their defeat at the hands of Thornton last week to win this return fixture by at Seafield Road on Sunday. YMCA got off to a flying start with a close-range goal from Jamie M in the 1st min but Thornton equalised just 2 mins later with a well struck shot from the edge of the box. YMCA again went ahead through Linus W who netted from a narrow angle but Thornton again levelled the match shortly before half time. After the interval though YMCA's pace and midfield dominance began to tell and Jordan B scored three times to put the home side beyond reach. Calvin R, Ben C and Harvey R were outstanding in this impressive and determined YMCA team performance.

UNDER 14s:
YMCA 0 FOXHALL 13

Once again YMCA started with 10 men at Seafield Rd last Sunday but they still produced some good football to keep the unbeaten league leaders at bay for the opening 15 minutes. Just to add to YMCA’s bad luck though an injury to McGreehin mid-way through the half opened the flood gates and Foxhall raced into a 5 - 0 at half time. Once again Dave M and Jack B fought hard for the cause in defence but YMCA were just overwhelmed in the 2nd half as the visitors netted another eight goals. Dan F worked tirelessly in the midfield throughout and despite the scoreline and having players missing on half term holidays YMCA still displayed great spirit which will hopefully bring them their first league win of the season soon.

UNDER 16s:
YMCA 4 FLEETWOOD TOWN 0

YMCA notched up their 3rd successive victory in bright sunshine at Seafield Rd last Sunday. The first half was scrappy and although YMCA were always on top they failed to create any real clear-cut chances and it remained goalless at half time. The deadlock was broken though 8 minutes after the restart when Harry F latched on to an Adam Z cross and struck from close-range to put YMCA ahead. Town continued to cause the YMCA defence very few problems and James G doubled YMCA’s lead by netting with a smart finish from a good ball from James T. YMCA then began to produce some fine flowing football and the busy Taz M netted twice with excellent finishes and he was only denied a hat trick when he found the net again only for an offside flag to cancel it out. Tom P impressed throughout with James P also notable in the centre of YMCA’s rearguard.

GIRLS U10s:
YMCA 1 PENDLE FOREST 2

YMCA were up for the challenge against top of the table Pendle and settled quickly. After 5 minutes Laurel N made an excellent pass to the outstanding Olivia H who beat a defender with a determined run and fired past the keeper into the net. Being the first time YMCA had ever scored against Pendle, this gave YMCA a fantastic boost and they dominated the remainder of the half creating many more chances but were unable to convert into further goals. Amy S though nearly made 2-0 when the keeper went down in front of her but it just went wide of the net. YMCA piled on the pressure in the second half but Pendle levelled after and accidental collision between two YMCA defenders gifted the visitors a goal. YMCA continued to press though but couldn’t find the back of the net and unfortunately Pendle broke away to score again which proved to be the winning goal. YMCA keeper Ellie M was outstanding throughout making some terrific saves but YMCA were a little unfortunate not to take something from this game after a very determined team display.

GIRLS U13s:
YMCA 3 BROMLEY CROSS 1

YMCA came out on top in this top of the table clash at Seafield Road last Sunday. The game was particularly scrappy in the first half until YMCA took the lead on 13 minutes when a Bromley defender deflected the ball into her own net. This was quickly followed by YMCA's second from an excellent free kick from Siobhan F to give YMCA a 2-0 half time lead. Bromley came back into the game twelve minutes into the second half when YMCA failed to clear a corner and Emma H forced the ball home from close range. However this just forced YMCA to step their game up and Stephanie V was able to seal the game for YMCA with a smart finish.

GIRLS U17s:
YMCA 11 READSTONE 1

YMCA returned to the top of the league with this emphatic victory at Seafield Rd last Sunday. Captain Mandy P floated a free kick beyond the defence for Millie B to slot home in the 4th minute and in the 10th minutes it was 2-0 when Amy C showed great composure to chip the keeper from 20yds.

On 17 minutes Millie B netted her 2nd and she completed her hat trick shortly afterwards. Emma B was then brought down and from the resultant free kick Crossland hammered the ball into the roof of the net from 25yds. Emma B herself then added a further goal before Carr calmly beat a defender and poked the ball home with the outside of her foot. Right on half time Pendlebury stabbed the ball home from close range to make it 8-0 at the break. YMCA eased off in the second half but Carr increased their lead then two further goals in as many minutes completed the scoring for YMCA. Ashley W scored a screamer from 25yds after a mazy run by Ellie C and Emma B grabbed her second of the game with a fine finish. Readstone notched a consolation goal but YMCA’s display was outstanding on the day with Millie B particularly impressive throughout.
