This was one a very few games not to be postponed because of frozen pitches at Seafield Rd last Saturday and every credit goes to both teams for producing great entertainment in very cold and wet conditions.
In the A game YMCA started very brightly and two fine goals by Laurence J put them 2-0 ahead at half time. In the 2nd half though YMCA’s play became a little complacent and Rangers took full advantage by scoring twice to level the scores. However, in the last minute of the game YMCA grabbed a winner when the excellent Ryan W rounded the visitors’ goalkeeper before coolly firing into the empty net. Reece M was outstanding in the YMCA defence. In the B game YMCA again started brightly but missed a host before Rangers took the lead. The impressive Dan H though fired home an equaliser but after the restart the visitors regained the lead. YMCA then threw everyone forward in search of a second equaliser and were caught out in the closing minutes with Rangers breaking away to seal the game with a third goal. Kyle M worked tirelessly throughout for YMCA.
