YMCA A 1 STAINING A 1
YMCA B 10 STAINING B 0
Lowly Staining battled hard in the A game at a spring-like Seafield last Saturday to earn a point with Daniel H on target for YMCA. In the B game however YMCA were on top throughout and dominated play from start to finish. Laurence J was in devastating form bagging six of their goals with Ryan W weighing-in with a hat-trick. A strike from Christian K completed YMCA convincing victory.
11-A-SIDE:
UNDER 11s:
YMCA 8 THORNTON 0
YMCA started brightly and dominated from the start. They could have been 2-0 up within 5 minutes with Jack R and Shane D both coming close. YMCA, however, took their chances from two corners, the outstanding Conah B delivered for Bradley G and Jack R both to head home. Bradley G then got his second and Conah B latched on to a great through ball by Jack C to give YMCA a 4-0 lead at half time. In the second half YMCA again applied the pressure and scored a further 4 goals. These came from Chester D, Oscar T, Carl K and Johnny A in what was a great team performance.

GLENROSS JUN 4 YMCA 9
YMCA progressed to the 3rd round of the County Cup with this high-scoring victory at Rossendale last Sunday. They were on top throughout the first half and reached the interval with a 7-2 lead to virtually secure victory. Glenross came much more into the game in the 2nd half and grabbed two more goals but YMCA netted another two themselves to complete an excellent win. The outstanding Linus W led the way with four of YMCA’s goals. Sean K and Tyler D both bagging pairs with a strike by Andy C completing this fine YMCA win. Calvin R and Jamie M impressed throughout also.
UNDER 13s:
YMCA 15 CLIFTON RAN 0
This was a comfortable win for the Under 13s who led 6-0 at the break following goals from Ryan R, a brace from Ryan A and a hat trick from Sam M including a spectacular overhead kick. Jack W scored early in the second half before Ryan A completed his hat trick and also scored a fine 4th goal. Liam R scored two well-taken goals with Jordan B and Oliver D also getting on the score sheet. Sam M took his tally to 5 for the game with further two late strikes.
UNDER 14s:
WARTON TYPHOONS 6 YMCA 0
This scoreline was a little cruel on YMCA last Sunday and it certainly didn't do their performance any justice. They were well in the game in the 1st half putting together some excellent football and looked like reaching the interval on level terms. However, two defensive errors in the closing minutes of the half gifted Warton a 2-0 interval lead and although YMCA continued to display good spirit after the restart more defensive lapses enabled the home side to add to their score. Dave M played in goals in the 1st half then came out after the break to play in central defence and he impressed in both roles. James R, Dan F and Lewis M were all notable also.
UNDER 15s:
FLEETWOOD GYM 0 YMCA 3
YMCA continued their fine start to the season with a solid team display against a tricky Fleetwood side at Broadwaters last Sunday. Adam L, Ben W and Harry H combined well down the left on numerous occasions and the Fleetwood defence rode its luck until the 20th minute when Jason W stole in to poke home a good cross. YMCA continued to dominate but had keeper Jack C to thank for two excellent saves to keep YMCA ahead 1-0 at the interval. The second half continued in a similar pattern with YMCA controlling the play but Fleetwood were always dangerous on the break. On the hour Jonathan H latched onto a fine through ball to lash a shot past the goalkeeper and Tom M confirmed YMCA’s superiority with a cool lob in the 65th minute.

YMCA 2 CHORLEY ST GREGORYS 1
YMCA produced an outstanding team performance at a sunny and warm Seafield Rd last Sunday to progress to the 3rd round of the County Cup. The visitors looked lively in the early stages but YMCA soon settled down to create a number of chances but defences were generally on top at both ends and it remained goalless at the break. After the restart YMCA took the initiative with some excellent passing and approach work but it was the visitors who broke the deadlock against the run of play midway through the half with a spectacular 35yd strike from near the touchline. However, five minutes later YMCA levelled through a clever 20yd lob from Jonathan M and then took the lead when Taz M superbly drilled the ball home from a narrow angle. YMCA had to withstand late pressure from the visitors but held on for a deserved victory. Harry F impressed throughout and was always involved in YMCA’s attacking play with Neil W and Nathan A both solid throughout in the centre of defence.
Syndicate Youth Cup:
UNDER 18s:
YMCA 9 GILLBRAND WARIERS 0
Warm and sunny weather welcomed these two teams at Seafield Road for this first round Syndicate Youth Cup match. It was the hosts who settled down quickly and carved out the early chances against spirited opponents from the League's third division. After 12 minutes Matty R opened the scoring, drilling in a shot from the edge of the area after good work on the right from Max R. Further good work from Max R led to Anthony S's shot clipping the post and shortly after Adam W grabbed YMCA's second following a neat pass from strike partner Nathan R. Nathan R then made it three before Max R tapped in YMCA's fourth just before half time. The main feature of the second half was four goals from winger Sam T, who turned in a tricky display, and possibly the goal of the game from substitute Jordan D, who volleyed in from the edge of the area after a cross from Adam W. This YMCA victory gives them another home tie against either Euxton Villa or Kirkham.
GIRLS U10s:
YMCA 0 PENDLE FOREST 2
YMCA battled well against a strong Pendle side at Seafield Rd last Sunday and were unlucky to find themselves 1-0 down by half time. Pendle scored again in the second half and despite several promising runs from Amy S and Beth E they failed to penetrate the visitors’ defence. The whole YMCA team played well with Chyna A particularly outstanding in defence.
GIRLS U13s:
YMCA 10 AGSA 0
YMCA maintained their 100% start to the season, in a physical encounter against Accrington based AGSA at Seafield Rd last Sunday scoring five goals in each half. Goals from Evie M (3) Siobhan F (3) Jenny H (2) with Olivia T and Rebecca G both on target also ensured a comfortable victory for the home side.
GIRLS U17s:
BURSCOUGH 0 YMCA 4
YMCA produced an impressive all round team display away at Burscough last Sunday to bring home all three points. They had the edge in the 1st half and deservedly took the lead when the ball a cross from near the touchline by Ashley R eluded everybody and floated into the net and they doubled their lead before half time with a strike from Siobhan R. YMCA remained in control after the restart and they increased their lead when the home keeper was beaten by a back-header from Millie B and victory was sealed with a second goal of the game by Siobhan R.
