Is mise Clodagh Ní Gharmaile agus tá mé seacht mbliana déag d'aois. Is as Clóidigh mé i gContae Dhoire. Imrím peil Ghaelach do mo chlub, darb ainm Carraig Bhán agus d'fhoireann sinsearach Dhoire. Is breá liom bheith ag imirt pheil Ghaelach mar tá sé maith don chorp agus coinníonn sé aclaí mé. Chomh maith leis sin, is duine iomaíoch mé agus mar sin de is aoibhinn liom an comórtas leis na cailíní eile.
Spreag m'athair mé agus bhí an pheil Ghaelach i gcónaí ar an teilifís nuair a bhí mé níos óige. Chomh maith leis sin, d'imir m'athair don chlub chéanna ina bhfuil mise anois agus mar sin de, tá sé san fhuil agam. Nuair a roghnaíodh mé do mo chontae féin, bhí mé iontach sásta. Is ábhar bróid é domsa bheith ag imirt do mo chontae féin. Bhí mo thuismitheoirí iontach bródúil agus tagann siad chuig na cluichí uilig.
An bomaite is fearr a bhí agam nuair a bhain m'fhoireann cluiche ceannais na gclubanna agus bhain mé trófaí don imreoir is fearr agus bhí mé iontach, iontach bródúil.
Na difríochtaí is mó idir Peil na mBan agus Peil na bhFear ná go maireann Peil na mBan seasca bomaite in áit seachtó bomaite do na fir. Ní fhaigheann na mná aitheantas ar bith ach oibríonn muid go crua - mar is léir anseo!
Bíonn an traenáil iontach deacair, go háirithe cóngarach do na cluichí móra. Bím ag traenáil trí oíche i rith na seachtaine ach tá mo chroí istigh sa pheil Ghaelach. Tá cluiche mór againn ag an deireadh seachtaine agus tá muid ag traenáil go crua anocht. Ach tá muid réidh, sílim!
My name is Clodagh Gormley and I'm seventeen. I'm from Claudy in County Derry. I play Gaelic football for my club, called Craigbane and for the Derry Senior team. I love playing Gaelic football because it's good for the body and it keeps me fit. As well as that I'm a competitive person and therefore I love the competition with the other girls.
My father encouraged me and Gaelic football was always on the television when I was younger. Also, my father played for the same club I'm in now and so it's in my blood. When I was selected for my county, I was really pleased. It is a source of pride for me to play for my county. My parents were very proud and they come to all the games. My best moment was when my team won the Club final and I won a trophy for the best player and I was very, very proud.
The main differences between Ladies' football and Men's football are that Ladies' football lasts sixty minutes instead of the men's seventy. The women don't get any real recognition but we work hard - as is clear here!
The training is very difficult, especially approaching the important matches. I train three nights during the week but I just love Gaelic football. We have a big game at the weekend and we're training hard tonight. But we're ready, I think!
