Stephen Walter explains the inspiration behind his drawing ‘The Island’. He explains that his hand drawn map of London is a comment on the capital’s contradiction, chaos and intricacies. He decided to represent the city as an island as a wry joke on London’s self-importance and the way Britain identifies itself as an island nation.
