An interview with Australian photographer, Cameron Spencer

Do you work independently or for a newspaper or a magazine?
I work for Getty Images it is a company which has customers who ask for photos, I then email them to base and they email to newspapers for purchase.

Are you here for the whole Olympics?
Yes, I will be going to a couple of events each day.

Do you go to all types of sport or do you photograph specific events?
There are 29 photographers who work for Getty Images we decide which photographers go to each event.

How long have you been a photographer?
Photographing has been my passion since I was young I have been doing it professionally for four and a half years now.

What do you enjoy about your job? Do you have a favourite sport to photograph?
It's amazing the opportunity I get, I'm at the Olympics it's crazy. My favourite sport to photograph would be tennis at the grand slam, many shots to capture. At the Olympics its swimming.

How do you carry your equipment safely?
I carry them in protective wheeled cases, there heavy and there is protection needed.

Have there been any restrictions?
No, because I'm only allowed to photograph what the newspapers/clients request.

How do you get your photos to the base?
I use FTP on laptop to the editors in press centre they pick pictures to send to newspapers.
