With their mutual love of hair dye, punk rock, pulling silly faces and, like, everything American they could be practically the same person, eh? A look into Dr Love's crystal ball reveals all...

One week in: They keep the relationship under wraps, because Ashlee is determined that people should know that she didn't steal this boyfriend.
Two weeks in: They go public with their first date: in a mosh pit, where they both keep it extremely real.
Three weeks in: Their first fight. James admits that these days it's hard for him to trust anyone with the last name of Simpson.
Four weeks in: James realises that having a permanent connection to Ashlee would make him properly American, and promptly proposes. Ashlee accepts, realising that marrying someone you've only known for a month totally ROCKS. Like a mother.
Five weeks in: The parents meet. Ashlee's wonder if their daughter had a twin that they never knew about. James introduces Ashlee to his family. They, like, totally hire a translator.
Two months in: Big Californian wedding on the beach. They argue about which Death Cab song should be playing as Ashlee crowdsurfs up the aisle in a pair of James' super-baggy skating shorts.
Two-and-a-half months in: The wedding photos appear in Kerrang! and Cosmo Girl. Ashlee is upset because Cosmo Girl is totally not punk rock. James is upset that they printed a picture of Ashlee with his name underneath.
Three months in: Sitting at home one night, James is disturbed that Ashlee's lips are moving with no sound coming out. Equally spooky, the stereo speakers in the living room are telling him to get his feet off the coffee table.
Six months in: The honeymoon's over. James dyes their border collie's fur white blonde with Ashlee's hair dye. Ashlee retaliates by dyeing James's hair scarlet while he's asleep. They make up by agreeing to remove all hair dye from the house permanently.
One year in: They argue about where to spend their anniversary: James wants to go to a Green Day gig while Ashlee wants to cover the mall in toilet paper. They compromise by going to the gig while Ashlee TPs the snack stand.
Two years in: Ashlee gives birth to twins, which they call Punk and Rock. They are the first children born wearing eyeliner and with their noses already pierced. James experiences sympathy pains and passes out in the neighbouring bed.
Five years in: They celebrate their five year anniversary in a restaurant. James is increasingly annoyed when the papers report spotting Ashlee with "her twin sister" and fuelling rumours of a split.
Three months later: Ashlee shaves James's legs instead of her own by mistake. They both agree this is getting weird.
The tragic end: To his horror, James starts singing 'Pieces Of Me' in the middle of a gig without even realising it. They both agree that a divorce is the best way to protect their sanity.
