FT: South Africa 19-8 Wales 79 mins: Neil Jenkins wins his 86th cap for Wales to replace Craig Morgan, while Mefin Davies wins his first in place of Robin McBryde. 78 mins: Welsh attempts to clear their lines see them trundle backwards and, under pressure, Charvis' kick is charged down by Davidson. The scrum-half claims the try - and it is awarded by referee Spreadbury after consultation with the video official. 73 mins: Charvis is spotted using his hands in a ruck, and Pretorius makes the most of his penalty opportunity to put South Africa further in front. 69 mins: Wales replace Martyn Williams, Gareth Llewellyn and Marinos with Gavin Thomas, Robert Sidoli and Tom Shanklin. 68 mins: Michael Owen is penalised for offside after Rhys Williams fails to gather a kick through, and Pretorius lifts the Cape Town crowd with his second successful penalty. 65 mins: A South Africa attack is stopped by Wales and Rhys Williams races away. His progress to the line, though, is halted by a fine Davidson tackle.
63 mins: Joe van Niekerk, Ollie Le Roux and Hottie Louw replace AJ Venter, Daan Human and Quinton Davids in the Springbok pack as they look to quell the Welsh tide. 62 mins: Wales, playing with the torrential wind and rain, continue on the attack, and Rhys Williams is held up just short of the line. Then Jones is wide with a drop goal attempt. 56 mins: Wales produce a stunning drive at a scrum to win possession close to the South African line, but Marinos is penalised for holding on. 52 mins: South Africa replace Johannes Conradie and Meyer with Craig Davidson and Rautenbach, and continue their pressure on the Wales line. 51 mins: Skinstad breaks away from a scrum towards the Wales line, but his pass finds only Rhys Williams, who clears. 46 mins: Wales try to bounce back from the disappointment at losing a try before the break and Martyn Williams and Gareth Llewellyn set up a great attacking position. HT: South Africa 8-3 Wales 40 mins: South Africa continue on the attack and, with the last move of the first-half, Russell dives over to score the first try of the match. Pretorius misses the conversion. 37 mins: Kevin Morgan makes a break for Wales, but a great gather from Brent Russell halts the visitors' charge. 35 mins: A fortunate bounce from a Breyton Paulse kick gives South Africa a line-out yards from the Wales line. The home side drive forward, but are held up by a determined defence. 33 mins: Pretorius fires a drop goal attempt wide. Meyer and Venter return to the pitch, with Rautenbach leaving. 32 mins: Another punch-up - this time between Andy Marinos and Stefan Terblanche - sees referee Spreadbury issue a final warning to both captains.
29 mins: Wales waste another try-scoring position when their forwards fall offside close to the South Africa line. 26 mins: Wales' Martyn Williams is penalised for killing the ball, and Pretorius fires over a 50-metre penalty to level the scores. 24 mins: Faan Rautenbach replaces AJ Venter for the Springboks to play in the front row during Meyer's sin-binning. 23 mins: After a final warning, South African prop Willie Meyer is yellow-carded for constant infringing. 20 mins: South Africa are penalised by referee Spreadbury and Wales fly-half Stephen Jones slots over the penalty to give Wales the lead. 15 mins: The first good Welsh attack, involving Michael Owen and Kevin Morgan, sees visiting captain Colin Charvis penalised for holding on. 10 mins: Scrum-half Ryan Powell comes on to win his second Welsh cap for Dwayne Peel, who limps off with an ankle injury. 9 mins: Another attack from South Africa sees Marius Joubert break through, but Rhys Williams comes to the rescue. 3 mins: A brawl between the two front rows is stopped by the referee Tony Spreadbury, who lectures hookers James Dalton and Robin McBryde before awarding Wales a penalty. 1 min: An attack by the home side sees skipper Bobby Skinstad attempt a drop goal, but the ball drifts wide. 1405 BST: South Africa's Andre Pretorius kicks off.
