| Saturday, 17 August, 2002, 19:04 GMT 20:04 UK Reds' fightback earns draw ![]() Brad Davis played a key role for Wakefield Salford 22-22 Wakefield Two late tries from Danny Arnold and Ian Watson saved a point for Salford in a see-saw relegation clash with Wakefield. Wakefield led 22-12 with five minutes to go and looked set to move three points clear of bottom club Salford before the Reds hit back.
Wakefield went ahead in the sixth minute with a penalty from Ian Knott before a Steve Blakeley try and two Holroyd goals put Salford 8-2 up. Level at break Wakefield drew level when Andrew Frew collected Deon Bird's pass to go over and Knott landed a penalty after a high tackle by Andy Coley on Paul Jackson. Early in the second half, the impressive Brad Davis added a drop goal. But Salford went in front with Arnold's first try on the hour.
Davis added the conversion and then booted his second drop goal before capping a fine night by finishing off Bird's break for a try, which he then converted. But Salford refused to give up and were rewarded for their determination with the two late tries.
