Tinning added a 69 to her first round of 70 at Royal Porthcawl to lead the final event before the team is announced on Sunday. The Irish and Italian Open winner started the tournament in the seventh and final selection spot in the Solheim rankings. She said: "The Solheim has been on my mind for months, and my form hasn't been too good the last few weeks. "But I've got a new mental coach, and he reminded me this week just to think about one shot at a time." England's Johanna Head shot a joint best of day four under par 68 to go into the weekend just a shot off the lead. She had seven birdies to share the best score of the day with Germany's Elisabeth Esterl, who is a Solheim Cup hopeful, and Spain's Sara Beautell. Laura Davies, eighth in the rankings, still has a chance of jumping into the automatic choices after a 72 for level par 146. First round leader Claire Duffy slipped down the leaderboard after a struggling to a 76.
