| Monday, 26 August, 2002, 00:03 GMT 01:03 UK Pak makes late comeback ![]() The LPGA champion carded a record 270 total Se Ri Pak birdied six of her final seven holes to win the Betsy King Classic by three shots on Sunday. Two months after overturning a four-shot final-round defecit to win the LPGA Championship, Pak staged another comeback to triumph in Pennsylvania. This time, the South Korean rallied from three adrift to take her third title of the year at the Berkleigh Country Club. Pak began the day three shots behind third-round leader Michelle Ellis and bogeyed two of her first three holes. But she eagled the fifth and had eight birdies over the final 13 holes en route to a nine-under 63. The 24-year-old shattered Annika Sorenstam's tournament record with a 21-under-par total of 267. Unheralded Angela Stanford shot her second straight 66 for a career-best second-place finish at 18-under 270. That was two strokes better than Australia's Karrie Webb, who closed with a 69.
