Faulconbridge joins Wycombe
Craig Faulconbridge
Craig Faulconbridge will be sorely missed by Wrexham
Wycombe Wanderers have signed out-of-contract Wrexham striker Craig Faulconbridge.

The 24-year-old former Coventry player has joined the Second Division club on a free transfer and has signed a three-year contract.

"I am overjoyed to be coming to Wycombe," Faulconbridge told the club's website. "Whenever I have played against them it has always been a match with plenty of incident and sometimes plenty of goals.

"I know the First Division is a real target for everyone. If I can be a part of making that happen then it will be terrific.

"My three years with Wrexham were very enjoyable and I thank them for allowing me to come to Wycombe at this time."

Pressure

Faulconbridge spent loan spells with Dunfermline and Hull before joining Wrexham in 1999.

However, while Wycombe are on the rise under the management of former Wimbledon player Lawrie Sanchez, Wrexham ended this season relegated to the Third Division.

"I am delighted to have Craig join us," Wycombe manager Sanchez said. "He is a natural goalscorer and will fit in very well.

"His signing brings the strike force to five and will put pressure on the others who will have to fight for their places.

"At 24, he will also help to bring the age of team down, which is something I am trying to do."
