Nugent has made 21 appearances for Orient this season

Swansea City have signed former Cardiff City striker Kevin Nugent on a month's loan from Leyton Orient.

The 34-year-old will go straight into the squad for the Third Division match at York City.

Club boss Brian Flynn has been long searching for a powerful target man to solve the team's scoring problems.

Swansea are currently bottom of Division Three.

"He's a big, strong lad who can handle the rough and tumble side of the game," Flynn said of Nugent.

"He will bring bags of experience to the forward line, and the good thing is that he knows the Third Division inside out."

Nugent thinks the Swansea supporters will treat him as fairly as the Cardiff fans have treated two former Swansea players.

"You look at Andy Legg and Jason Bowen and they're two of the favourites at Cardiff now," he told BBC Wales.

"If I go there and try my best - which I always do - I'm sure it'll be fine.

"It's about grafting the results out."
