Robins plan McCann appeal
Northern Ireland and West Ham's Grant McCann
McCann made international debut against Malta
Cheltenham are to appeal against Northern Ireland international's Grant McCann's sending off against Brentford.

McCann was dismissed for violent conduct but Cheltenham manager Graham Allner wants the Football Association to have a look at video evidence.

"From looking at the video evidence we feel it was a yellow card offence rather than a red," said Cheltenham manager Graham Allner.

McCann is on loan at Whaddon Road from West Ham until 4 January, but a three-match would mean he would be available for just two games.

McCann made his international debut in October last year, coming on as substitute in the World Cup qualifier away to Malta.

His first appearance for West Ham came in the final match of the 2000-2001 season against Middlesbrough.

He figured in a few matches at the start of last season but was unable to hold down a regular place in Glenn Roeder's team.
