| Thursday, 13 February, 2003, 22:03 GMT Halifax 2-4 Barnet A purple patch of three goals in eight minutes helped Barnet rip the form book up with a convincing demolition of in-form Halifax. The visitors came into into the game without a victory in six attempts, while Halifax had reeled off eight wins on the trot. Barnet had to wait until the 40th minute for their first goal, after Junior Agogo failed to hit the target from six yards in the 12th minute. But Danny Brown netted the opener, and then turned provider when his cross was headed home by Agogo within 90 seconds of the resumption. Greg Heald effectively sealed victory three minutes later, nodding home Mark Gower's left-wing centre. Agogo put the icing on Barnet's victory cake with a smart finish from the edge of the penalty area after 55 minutes. Such was Barnet's dominance that Lewis Killeen's brace in the space of 17 second-half minutes was no more than a consolation for Halifax. Halifax: Butler, Sandwith, Garnett, Monington, Asher, Midgley, Bushell, Clarkson, Fitzpatrick, Quailey, Killeen. Subs: Quinn, Morgan, Neil Grayston, Parke, Farrell. Barnet: Naisbitt, Yakabu, Heald, Soloman, Flynn, Doolan, Gower, Brown, Midgley, Purser, Agogo. Subs: Millard, Toms, Oshitola, Baimass, Cashman. Referee: M Matadar (Lancashire) |
