| Thursday, 13 February, 2003, 00:42 GMT Yeovil 4-0 Kettering Conference leaders Yeovil took another big step towards Nationwide League football with a display of total superiority against rock-bottom Kettering. Colin Pluck, Kevin Gall, Kirk Jackson and Michael McIndoe found the net to keep the hapless Cherries pinned to the foot of the table. It took 26 minutes of one-sided action for Yeovil to take the lead with Pluck's header from Lee Johnson's inswinging corner. And the visitors had goalkeeper Ian Bowling to thank for somehow keeping their deficit at one goal until the 69th minute. But once Darren Way's low cross had been slotted home by substitute Gall, the floodgates opened. Any glimmer of hope for Kettering was extinguished after 74 minutes when substitute Michael McKenzie incurred a straight red card for a challenge on Jackson. And the Yeovil striker's response could hardly have been sweeter as he crashed home the third goal from close range two minutes later before McIndoe's 85th-minute drive completed the rout. Yeovil: Weale, Lockwood, Pluck, Skiverton, McIndoe, Lindegaard, Way, El Kholti, Johnson, Jackson, Williams. Subs: Blunt, Gall, O'Brien, Collis, Aggrey. Kettering: Bowling, Howarth, Haran, Norman, Matthews, Diuk, Goodwin, Holyoak, Inman, Murphy, Asombang. Subs: Gourley, McKenzie, Shutt, Boyle-Chong, Dancy. Referee: S Door (Worcester) |
