Margate 0-1 Dag & Red

Dagenham recorded their third away win of the season after a slender 1-0 triumph against Margate at Hartsdown Park.

The visitors, who have made a stuttering start to the campaign after finishing runners-up to Boston in the Conference last season, started excellently and went ahead after just two minutes.

Veteran striker Mark Stein was the man who scored it when he lashed the ball into the roof of the net following good work by Lee Matthews.

Junior McDougald went close to making it two but his right-foot shot from 20 yards was saved by Charlie Mitten just after the hour.

Margate: Mitten, Shearer, Porter, Sodje, Oates, Saunders, Leberl, Keister, Lamb, Braithwaite, Watts. Subs: Edwards, Perry, McFlynn, Collins, Turner.

Dag & Red: Roberts, Rooney, Vickers, Matthews, Potts, Perkins, Terry, Hill, Bruce, Stein, McDougald. Subs: Smith, Shipp, West, Keeling, Gothard.

Referee: F Graham (Stanford-le-Hope).
