The greatest jump jockey in history, AP McCoy, finally won the Grand National at the 15th attempt in 2010 on Don't Push It.
It was the missing piece in the racing jigsaw for the 36-year-old, who has been champion jockey a record 15 times in a row and has ridden over 3,000 winners.
The Northern Irishman has won the King George VI Chase, Champion Hurdle, Champion Chase and Cheltenham Gold Cup in a glittering career that has rewritten racing's record books.
And his victory at Aintree in April prompted a flood of emotion, with trainer Jonjo O'Neill and racehorse owner JP McManus hailing the magnificent McCoy, whose CV now finally boasts winning the world's most famous horse race.
McCoy said his Grand National victory was a dream come true but typically, despite having celebrated his Aintree victory until late, he steered Aberdale to victory at Southwell the next day after arriving at the course by helicopter.
McCoy will now take his place in the battle to be crowned Sports Personality of the Year December, as he aims to become the first jockey to pick up the BBC gong.
