More tickets have been released for the 2010 BBC Sports Personality of the Year show, which returns to Birmingham for a third time on Sunday, 19 December.

The 2010 event will be the biggest ever, with the LG Arena ready to accommodate about 12,000 people.

Public tickets will cost £40, plus a booking fee, and can be ordered by calling the Ticket Factory on 0844 338 8002 or via www.theticketfactory.com.

Gary Lineker, Sue Barker and Jake Humphrey will host the live show.

Tickets for the 2009 event at the Sheffield Arena sold out within hours of going on sale and the audience was treated to a memorable show, which culminated with Manchester United star Ryan Giggs lifting the coveted BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.

This year, the two-hour spectacular will once again be broadcast live on BBC television, radio and online from 1900 GMT and will be attended by former winners of the main award and many of the biggest names from the world of sport.

And there is plenty to cover, with the Winter Olympics, World Cup, Commonwealth Games and Ryder Cup all taking place in 2010.

There have been countless memorable moments from individual sportsmen and women throughout the year, too.

The minimum age for people attending is 10 and all children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Proof of age may be required.

Maximum of six tickets per booking. Tickets are non-transferable and the re-sale of tickets is prohibited.

Proof of identity may be required and ID checks may be conducted.

This is not a commercial event, proceeds from ticket sales go towards the cost of staging the event.

Restrictions and conditions apply to prevent tickets being sold at a higher price.
