Chela is a fast-improving player although he unlikely to figure in the latter stages at Wimbledon.

The Argentine admits he prefers clay court tennis and it is rare to find such a player who is just as comfortable on grass.

His last two appearances at Wimbledon seem to suggest his game is not suited for that surface, having failed at the first-round stage on both occasions.

The 23-year-old's best Grand Slam performance came at last year's US Open, where he beat Britain's Tim Henman on the way to the fourth round.

This season Chela has been steady rather than spectacular.
