27 Xavier Malisse

DOB:19.07.1980
Nationality:Belgian
World Ranking:34
Previous Wimbledon results:
2001 ::second round
2000 ::did not play
1999 ::did not play
1998 ::did not play

Malisse is attempting to do for men's tennis in Belgium what Justine Henin and Kim Clijsters are doing for the women's game.

He is yet to win an ATP title but is improving all the time, although he needs to curb his temperament.

He was coached for a time by Tim Henman's long-time guide David Felgate and that brought him some notable results, not least beating Henman himself in the US Open last year.

The Belgian repeated the trick at this year's French Open on his way to a creditable last 16 place, and there have been signs that he could prosper on grass.

Malisse went out in the second round last year, but he led Roger Federer - who went on to beat Pete Sampras - by two sets to love before finally losing in five.
